Exchange Houses in the UAE: Al Ansari, Lulu, Al Fardan
A guide to the main UAE exchange houses — how they work, which corridors they serve, and how to compare them before you transfer.
UAE exchange houses are licensed money transfer operators regulated by the UAE Central Bank (CBUAE). They operate physical branch networks across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and other emirates, and many also offer app or online services.
Main UAE exchange houses
Al Ansari Exchange is one of the largest UAE exchange houses, with hundreds of branches across the UAE. It supports transfers to a wide range of destination countries, including India, Pakistan, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Egypt, and many others. Al Ansari also offers a mobile app for transfers.
Lulu Exchange operates exchange house branches, often located within Lulu hypermarkets across the UAE. It supports major corridors including AED to INR and AED to PKR. Lulu Exchange also offers app-based transfers for some corridors.
Al Fardan Exchange operates branches across the UAE and supports multiple international corridors. It is among the CBUAE-licensed exchange houses with a long history in the UAE market.
What to check at an exchange house
- The exchange rate offered at the branch (rates may vary by branch and by time of day).
- Whether the exchange house supports your specific destination country and payout method.
- Any flat transfer fee charged in addition to the exchange rate margin.
- Whether the app or online option is available (and whether it offers different rates).
Data caveat: remit.ae does not publish live exchange house rates. Verify rates directly at the branch, via the exchange house app, or by calling the branch before visiting.
